Helloses! My name is EmKay Archlink! I was diagnosed with Level 2 Autism Spectrum Disorder on September 30, 2022. That changed my life in the best way possible. I finally understand who I am and why I always felt different. My brain is wired differently from my average peers. I really struggled as a child. Being undiagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and not getting the help I needed in school, led to me developing severe anxiety, depression, and panic disorder. I was miserable. I felt wrong, broken, and like I could do nothing right. I refuse to let anyone else go through that if I can help it. I am the founder and CEO of Archlink, LLC. I founded this nonprofit because every student deserves the opportunity to request accommodations that support their academic success, regardless of their background, diagnoses, or financial standing. A student with seemingly perfect grades could be struggling. The pressure to perform at the highest levels can lead to severe levels of anxiety and depression. Students with unstable home lives may require additional support in their day-to-day transition at school. Even the richest students could be struggling to get diagnosed due to their parents’ pride. No matter their background, diagnoses, or financial standing, every student deserves to have the tools to succeed in school without putting their emotional or physical safety at risk. I am currently pursuing a graduate certification in Autism Spectrum Disorder, Behavioral Intervention Specialist Graduate Certification, Special Education Moderate/Intensive Needs Additional Licensure Preparation. Once I graduate, I plan to work as a Behavioral Interventionist for the state, which will allow me to visit various schools and interact with children. I don’t want anyone to go through what I did.
